This was the original Honker design. It was designed for playing from a "station" where you don't move around a lot. I would put the box on the floor, plugged into an echo stompbox (Ibanez AD-80), and I had a long (20') cord to go from there to the PA. This way I had all my controls on the floor right next to me and a reasonable area to move around in.
This arrangement works well for a gig-crasher (like myself) because it requires very little set-up time and gives you good control of your sound even though you hand the end of your cord to the host and it disappears behind a pile of junk, never to be seen again.
The 10-foot cord from the ring microphone to the box gives you enough of a "leash" to
be expressive and is plenty if you play a sitdown gig.
